About
“I currently work at a healthcare non-profit called Health Net of West Michigan. We honor strengths-based, client-centered resource navigation, focusing on insecurities and inequities in Social Determinants of Health/Health Related Social Needs (housing, food, transportation, utilities, safety, etc.). Additionally, I am a fresh to a graduate school program in Nutrition Education at American University. Two years ago, I earned a certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner. My passion for community became an obvious career choice after graduating from Western Michigan University (BA in both Gender & Women’s Studies and English) and serving as an AmeriCorps member for two years!
In my spare time, I volunteer at an urban farm (Urban Roots) and serve on a board (PeaceJam) that connects students to service learning and Nobel Peace Prize laureates. I’m an avid outdoorswoman, backpacker, and reader. I have two darling old bunnies and spend too much time buying and attending to houseplants. “
