Julia Eagles is the Associate Director of Utility and Regulatory Strategy at the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT). In this role, Julia is responsible for developing and deploying IMT’s power sector strategy at a local, state, and national level strategies to achieve broad-scale transformation within utilities and utility regulation. Prior to joining IMT, Julia was the Public Policy and Strategy Manager at Xcel Energy, helping the multi-state utility set a nation-leading vision for a carbon-free future, tracking national trends around evolving utility business models, and coordinating company strategies on state and federal energy policy. Julia brings over a decade of experience in the public, private, and non-profit sectors working on energy and sustainability strategies.
Julia has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota, with a concentration in energy and environmental policy, and a B.A. from Macalester College in environmental studies. She is a founding Board member of the Twin Cities Young Professionals in Energy group and was named to the Midwest Energy News 40 under 40. In her free time, she enjoys biking, cross-country skiing, taking trips to beautiful locations, organizing in her South Minneapolis community, and growing and eating good food.
