Lamisa Chowdhury serves as the Managing Director of NEWHAB, working to strengthen the efficacy of the network and build strategies that deepen member connections and learnings around housing, water, and energy justice. Prior to NEWHAB, Lamisa served as the interim Deputy Director of Resilient Communities at the Natural Resources Defense Council, where she aimed to make communities across the country affordable, healthy, just, and sustainable by supporting multidisciplinary teams in advancing holistic solutions that safeguard the health and prosperity of communities. Before her time at NRDC, Chowdhury worked with community organizations on climate and energy efficiency research, advocacy, and organizing in Kansas. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and is based in the Washington DC metro area.
