Valerie Strauss is the Director of Policy & Regulatory Affairs for the Association for Energy Affordability (AEA) where she directs regulatory and policy activities in support of energy efficiency with a special emphasis on multifamily buildings and low and moderate-income communities. Prior to joining AEA, she led the Alliance for Clean Energy NY and worked to pass and implement New York’s first Renewable Portfolio Standard. She has many years of experience in energy and environmental policy working for consulting firms and non-profit organizations in New York, Washington DC and Madrid, Spain (these include the Cadmus Group and the League of Women Voters). Ms. Strauss has a B.A. in Geography from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.A. in Urban Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles.
